# Talk lifecycle

| State | Meaning | Audience participation |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Disabled | Prepared but not accepting participation | Unavailable |
| Running | Open for participation | Available, subject to feature settings |
| Finished | Session marked as ended | Unavailable through Inalia's built-in participation pages |

## Run

Choose **Run** to open participation. A scheduled date does not run a talk automatically.

You can run a disabled or finished talk. Running a finished talk removes its ended status; it does not clear its saved answers or feedback.

## Disable

Choose **Disable** to stop participation without marking the talk as finished. This does not delete collected data.

You can choose **Run** again when you are ready.

## Finish

Choose **Finish** to mark the session as ended and close built-in participation.

Finishing is not the same as deleting. Your owner workspace still provides access to collected results.

Generated [Slidev question output](slidev-and-demo-mode.md) changes from a live question reference to a static snapshot when the talk is finished.

## Feedback timing

Inalia's built-in feedback form currently requires a **running** talk, even if Feedback is enabled. Keep the talk running through your feedback collection period.

A configured external feedback URL behaves differently: the short feedback link can redirect to it for a running or finished talk. See [Feedback](feedback.md).
